Who are we?

I say 'we' but it is mostly me. I'm Nick Banks; an experienced designer and engineer with many years in the 2D and 3D design business. You can be assured of personal and professional service. I am here when you need me to support your design, development and production.

Meet the team

oNick Banks I studied ElectroMechanical Engineering at Southampton University then went on to a postgraduate course at the Royal College of Art studying Industrial Design Engineering. My first proper job was as a graduate designer at Dyson designing and testing vacuum cleaners ultimately moving to managing a small design team working in Dyson's new robotics division. Next I moved to motorsport and designed gearboxes for rally cars. After taking a small career break to travel I joined Techniquest and the world of science communication.

During a couple of years at Techniquest in Cardiff I designed a wide range of exhibits covering subjects from genetics to music before crossing the bridge and joining at-Bristol. Working in at-Bristol gave me more of a chance to get involved with hands on production and CNC operation. I now do exhibit and exhibition design on a freelance basis: W19 exhibit and exhibition design

After working as part of a larger organisation I have now set up my own company to create CAD models and detailed drawings on a freelance basis. My goal is to offer high quality, precise CAD at a much more affordable cost by having vastly reduced overheads. Drop me a line to see if I can help.

    • CAD

      Most popular CAD systems catered for: Siemens NX, Solidworks, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, ProE, EdgeCAM. Universal model formats available: Parasolid, ACIS, IGES, STEP, STL, etc.

    • Drawings

      Standard formats available such as DXF and DWG. Final drawings can also be produced in 'office' formats such as PDF and JPG. We can also create edrawings and 3D pdfs to allow easy sharing of information.

    • Production

      If you need to we can take your models and drawings one step further and get them manufactured. I have a network of local suppliers offering precision engineering, CNC cutting (milling, routing, laser), SLA, SLS, cabinet making, graphic panels.
